I’ve been making the best spicy pizza recipe for about 15 years and it’s still a firm favorite in our house. With easy-to-find ingredients, a thick luscious spicy garlicky sauce, a thin crispy base, and Tex-Mex-inspired veggies, you NEED this pizza in your life
Ingredients:
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced green pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup pepperoni
- 1/4 cup crumbled cooked sausage
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions:
- 1.Preheat your oven according to the pizza dough package instructions.
- 2.Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 3.Spread the spicy pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- 4.Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
- 5.Add your chosen spicy toppings, distributing them evenly across the pizza.
- 6.Brush the crust with olive oil for a golden finish.
Tips:
- For a spicier pizza, add more chili flakes or use a hot sauce instead of pizza sauce.
- For a cheesier pizza, use a blend of different cheeses, such as mozzarella, cheddar, Gruyere, and Parmesan.
- You can also add other toppings to your pizza, such as sausage, ham, bacon, vegetables, or pineapple.
- Be sure to let your pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing it, so the cheese doesn't ooze out.
- My conclusion:
I’m vegetarian, not vegan, but I actually prefer this pizza without cheese – it’s ALL about the spicy chunky sauce. Having said that some crumbled cotija or feta, or even a sharp grated cheese like cheddar, is also super tasty on top. This is an accidentally vegan recipe so vegans can eat it as is or add some Daiya shredded cheddar/Sheeze/Violife shreds or fork-crumble my super easy 1-hour. - So,enjoy your pizza and enjoying your best moments.
