Crispy, homemade chicken nuggets are sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. Who could resist crunchy, golden nuggets of joy?! No one, that’s who!Listen, I know chicken nuggets are traditionally known to be kids’ food. THESE nuggets though? Of course kids will love them but when I made these for the first time, they disappeared incredibly quickly and there was not a child in sight. And I mean, what’s not to love? Juicy nuggets of crispy, golden chicken? Uh, yes please! These nuggets are great served simply with ketchup but they’re even better when you add honey mustard sauce to dip as you go.

Ingredients:

  • For the chicken:
    • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • For the breading:
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • Vegetable oil for frying (about 3 cups)

Instructions:

  1. 1.Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you prefer baking, or heat oil in a deep fryer if you want to fry the nuggets.

  2. 2.In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3.Dip each piece of chicken into the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.

  4. 4.Next, dip the coated chicken into the beaten eggs.

  5. 5.Roll the chicken in breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
